What we are
TrueNorth Junk Removal is a referral service. When you request a quote, we pass it to an independent junk removal company serving your area. That company contacts you, sets the price and does the work. We do not own trucks, employ crews or haul anything ourselves, and we say so on every page.
Why this site exists
Calgary has no curbside pickup for bulky items, so almost everyone eventually needs to figure out how to get rid of a couch, a fridge or a basement full of boxes. When we looked, the information was scattered: hauler websites without prices, City pages without hauler options, and generic articles not written for Calgary. We built this site to put real prices, sourced City rules and practical guides in one place, and to make it easy to get a quote when you need one.
How we are paid
Our service is free for customers. Hauling companies pay us for introductions, either per request or through a monthly arrangement. The price you pay for the job is set by the hauler, not by us.
What we promise, and what we do not
We will
- Be clear that we are a referral service
- Source the prices and rules we publish, and date them
- Share your details only with hauler(s) quoting your job, and only with your consent
- Focus on Calgary and nearby communities only
We will not
- Pretend to be a hauling company
- Publish fake reviews, testimonials or invented credentials
- Claim to vet or guarantee haulers in ways we cannot verify
- Present market ranges as our own prices
Please check your hauler
Because the hauler is an independent business, ask it to confirm it holds a valid City of Calgary business licence and liability insurance, and get the price in writing before work starts. If anything goes wrong with a job, the hauler is responsible for it. We would still like to hear about it, so we can stop referring to companies that do not treat customers well.
How we research our guides
City fees and rules come from the City of Calgary’s official pages. Market prices come from the public price pages of Calgary junk removal companies, and we name them. Each figure is dated, because prices change. If you spot something out of date, please tell us.
